How the Matching Works
Every program in the matcher comes from the school's own pages, checked in October 2026: formats, part-time options, transfer pathways, admission to the major, field hours, published tuition and child welfare or Title IV-E tracks. CSWE status comes only from CSWE's directory, and yearly tuition and fees from NCES College Navigator. Must-haves remove programs; preferences add points; ties go to the lower cost.
Which Answers Matter Most
- Where you'll be licensed. Not every state licenses BSW graduates. The BSW license checker shows your state's rule.
- Your credits. With an associate degree, a degree completion program covers only the upper-division social work courses and field practicum. See the transfer and degree completion finder.

The per-credit budget compares the school's own published rate. Neither includes housing or grants.
What Does a Same-School MSW Route Mean?
367 BSW programs are at schools that also offer an MSW with advanced standing, so you can plan both degrees at one school. Advanced standing is open to graduates of any CSWE BSW, so this is a convenience rather than a requirement.
